New Mini Book

This is a new Mini Book I made yesterday using up the last of my Dream Street Clubhouse kit from The Scrapping Spot. Part of the kit was the chipboard pieces to make this mini book. Dream Street has such a cool design with the outer 6 x 12 pages and the inner 6x6 pages. Very cool! I decided I'd document my family's tradition of visiting different cemeteries and paying our respects to family members each Memorial Day. The photos are from 2003 and when we went that time, I took some notes and photos so I could remember all the family tree info. So glad I did. It is nice to have it all documented in one place now. I am home today! Yay. Took a vacation day. Just needed a few days away so I've kind of been hiding out for the weekend and today. It's hard working at a church sometimes. When it starts to get stressful and I feel myself getting negative and crabby, I know I need a short break.

Went thru some old photos and old school stuff at my Mom's on Friday. I want to share a few things here but I haven't gotten around to scanning/photo taking. So stay tuned!

Glimmer Mist

This is my 2nd Layout using one of the April Kits from The Scrapping Spot. One of the add ons for this month was Glimmer Mist. I have been wanting some for a long time so it was fun to have a chance to play! I used two colors of Glimmer Mist over a Heidi Swapp Mask for the background. I also sprayed glimmer mist on plain chipboard. I blotted it this time and it came out more uniform/marbled. When that dried, I ran it thru my sizzix big kick with my new flourish die to make the flourish at the top corner of the photo. Very cool stuff this glimmer mist. Kind of messy, but I have one of those Bazzill Splat mats and that and a baby wipe make clean up quick and easy.

Signs of Spring

Aren't these pretty? We had a photo challenge this week on TSS to take pics. around our yard of "signs of spring." Usually these flowers bloom and go away before I have a chance to pay attention so this year I am glad to get a photo. Love the purple with the vivid green against the dead brown leaves from last fall. It just really shows new life doesn't it? I am always in awe of the amazing colors God gives us. Here are a few more.

These daffodils are in the fence line of the neighbors yard. I have defective daffodils or something. They come up every year and look like they are going to bloom and then never open. Fortunately my neighbor has beautiful daffodils that come up just outside my bedroom window. So pretty.

Here is our weeping willow tree just starting to leaf out. Love the willow tree. It reminds me of my childhood. We had a huge, huge willow tree in our front yard where I grew up.

Check out this website for some cool shoe deals. It's called 6 PM. com. My sister sent me the link cause they have some of the croc styles at clearance prices. I've been browsing this evening. I like this pair of naturalizers too.

Is It Vacation Time Yet?

Darrel gave me one of these eggs for Easter a few days ago. Of course mine was pink! It had the same wrapper though with the big yellow M&M guy on it. I was having a looooonnngggg day because I was tired and kind of crabby and just wanting to crawl back in bed you know? So this afternoon I was hungry and decided to eat my PEANUT M&M's for a snack cause that sounded good. Well first why does it have to be impossible to get the wrapper off the thing? It was like shrink wrapped for goodness sakes and did you ever try to get a scissors between the plastic and the egg on a shrink wrapped egg? Not easy. Finally got it to tear and then of course it peels off in little strips..... so now should be easy right? No. Now I can't get the stinking egg to come apart.... finally get it open, relief at last I can eat my Peanut M&M's only to discover that it was filled with PLAIN M&M's. Isn't that a dirty trick? Why put the big yellow PEANUT M&M guy on the front and then fill it with plain M&M's. Plus, never make a package impossible to get into and then hand it to an impatient person. Be very impressed that it didn't end up across the room. Ha. Ha. Ha. Someone probably just set that up for me to end up with in the middle of my bad day right? Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha...... totally kidding. Just had to share my M&M woes. The Bunny was probably behind the whole thing.... See... told you he doesn't like me.

Seriously though, Monday was not that bad. Just tired like I said. I tend to go full steam when things are busy and hectic and the last 7-8 days have been like that. Then when things are over, I tend to crash. I'd like to crash for about 2 days and hide out at home, hence the vacation time reference. Since that isn't' going to happen, I did at least get to have a quiet evening with a nice dinner with my husband. We had some yummy turkey and mashed potatoes left overs from yesterday and watched Dancing with the Stars. Are you watching this season? Who do you like? Our favorites so far are Kristi Yamaguchi, Mario (the one who is dancing with Karina), The football player (I can't remember his name), and Priscilla Presley. Marliee M. isn't doing to bad either. Who do you think will be the first to go? Maybe Penn or Adam? Doesn't look to good for Monica S. either. I feel bad for her though because she seems to be trying so hard. We also like the girl from Broadway. I guess I haven't learned her name yet either.

So I heard today that Target is carrying the MM 5th Ave. line, plus another newer line I can't remember at the moment. Have you seen it there? I need to go check that out! I also read tonight that people are finding the AC Modern 12x12 albums at Big Lots! I so need a couple of those and we have 2-3 Big Lots near here. I will definitely be checking that out too!

Have you seen the new Crocs styles for summer? You can see them here. Does anyone have any of the higher wedge heel sandals? I am wondering if they are as comfortable as regular crocs? I think the Malindi's are pretty cute. I like the cyprus too. I think maybe in Bronze.

Do you ever buy from Levenger? Love, love their stuff. I just got an eyeglasses case called a blink and ink. A few of the colors are on sale and it's a pretty good deal. I got a cranberry one. I love having an eyeglass case that also holds a pen. My glasses are for reading and when I read, I like to have a pen/pencil handy becuase I am an underliner/note taker kind of girl. I used to have a case from Levenger that had my initials on it and it held 2 pens. Loved that case. I lost it however when our church caught fire back in Feb 2005. It was on my desk when we left the building. Levenger stopped making it so I wasn't able to replace it. I've been checking their site every since hoping it would reappear or at least something similar. So I was pretty happy to find this new version of the case. Their leather products are very high quality. Many things can be personalized and you should see the packaging! They come in this very nice box, that has an elastic strap around it. Inside your case or wallet is wrapped in a soft cloth with the Levenger name on it. Remember me mentioning how I am a sucker for cool detailed packaging?

As usual its past bedtime so I better head that way. As usual I am wide awake and could easily go scrap for a couple hours. But, work awaits in the AM so bed it is. Hope you are having a great week. I am hoping for a calm, quiet relaxing week as much as possible.

Resurrection Sunday

So on this Resurrection Sunday I wanted to share a new layout with you. This one is with The Scrapping Spot April Kit by Dream Street. Papers are the Clubhouse line. Aren't they cool? The picture of course is my adorable husband showing off his catch of 4 catfish following a fishing afternoon we spent here in Indiana a few years ago. Also included in the kit was this lace cardstock by KI Memories, and one of the add ons this month is Tim Holtz crackle paint in denim. Such cool stuff! I used it to paint the arrow. Look what the bunny brought me yesterday! Pretty pink and yellow tulips! I had looked for some to put on the table when we went grocery shopping but they were all out. So Darrel goes to town yesterday and comes home with these for me. He also gave me a pink egg full of Peanut M&M's. Yum. Today I got more Dove chocolate eggs and a Hershey Chocolate bunny. Isn't he sweet? I guess the bunny likes me after all.

We had an awesome Resurrection Sunday. We started out with Sunrise Service at church at 6:30 AM. It was great and we had a wonderful breakfast afterwards. Then we had our main service and the choir got to sing two awesome songs. My Mom and my nephew joined us for church so it was fun to have family with us. After that we headed back to our house for lunch with the rest of my family. Everyone brought something and we had our own Easter Potluck. Everything was yummy and I think I have enough for dinner tomorrow. Yay! I am ready now for a peaceful, calm slower week.

We had an awesome song in church this morning called Alive Forever Amen. The words were so powerful that I thought I'd close by sharing a portion. Have a great week!

Good Friday

Friday was my second bi-weekly card challenge for TSS. My challenge this week for everyone is to use a pocket on a card. I designed this card using a denim pocket I had that came off of a child's pair of denim shorts. How cute is the little leather patch with Mickey on it? I took my color cues from there. The little kids pocket for whatever reason made me think of a little one with some daisys in their pocket for Mom, so I added a little scrap of bandana and some silk daisys. I think pockets on cards have all kinds of cool possibilities. You could tuck in some flowers like I did, maybe a photo or tag, how about cash or a gift card? Pockets could be fabric like mine, paper, card stock, even a transparency or like I did at Christmas, a starbucks cup sleeve! Come and join us at TSS and show us your card or layout with a pocket.

Last night we had Good Friday service at church. We sang a few songs and watched a portion of The Passion movie depicting the crucifixion. So hard and amazing to see what my Savior endured for me. As part of the service we were encouraged to write down on a piece of paper that thing in our life that is that one strong thing we always struggle with. We pretty much all have one don't we? Then we took that thing and pinned it to the cross. The blood of Jesus is strong enough for whatever that thing is for each of us don't you think?

Today we are getting stuff done for Easter tomorrow. I have my mashed potatoes made, turkey's are thawing, house is clean. I need to go work on my DT stuff and figure out my outfit for the morning. We head to church at O Dark 6:30 as someone said to me earlier! I am soooo not a morning person so that is always a challenge to me. Not only getting there, but being able to function and not being ready to crash by noon! My family is coming over for lunch and the day together so I am looking forward to that. We have all pitched in for food so I think things should be pretty simple tomorrow. Glad about that!

The bunny visited me again yesterday. This time he left me this. He hasn't been here yet today. See I told you he didn't like me. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha.

The Bunny Has Been Here....

OK, so I was the one who started it. I had read on someone's blog recently (sorry I can't remember who you were...) how her husband had set up a little Easter Egg Hunt for her. That sounded like fun to me so I decided I wanted to do something like that for Darrel. So I hit the store the other day and got some eggs and candy and one night after he was asleep I filled my eggs and added a little note to each one. On tuesday I left a pink egg (because of course the pink egg needs to be first) and the orange one in his lunch box. Have you seen these orange eggs? They are from Reeses and it was called a Reester Egg and it had "Reester Bunnies" inside. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha!!! That struck me as toooo funny. Very cute and Darrel said they were good too! Anyway, back to the eggs. On Wed. I left one in the medicine cabinet and this morning he found one by his cell phone. It has been fun to figure out where to "hide" an egg for him to find each day. I might just have a few more up my sleeve but shhhhhh! Don't tell him. The first day he found one he left me an e-mail saying thanks and I made him smile. I of course had to be all innocent and said what? Was there something in his lunch box? Maybe the Easter Bunny had been here? He of course wouldn't leave me something because the Easter Bunny and I have issues! See when I was a little girl, and it was time to take away the bottle, I guess it was at Easter time and my parents told me the Easter Bunny took my bottle! So I figure the Easter Bunny doesn't like me much! Ha. So the great egg hunt of 2008 has been going on for a few days now and last night as I am getting in bed look what I find on my pillow....

Maybe the bunny likes me after all? Nope... my sweet husband had to get in on the fun. Of course he manages to find a chocolate bunny in a pink wrapper. Did you notice that? Then this morning I walk out into our living room to find the pink egg has reappeared on my chair. Only now, it is full of Dove Chocolate eggs (Yum!) and a sweet note for me! Have I got the best husband ever or what?

I E-mailed him at work and thanked him and asked him if this was called "regifting" the packaging? Ha. ha. ha. Ha. I was just teasing. So now I am thinking maybe the more eggs I throw his way the more I will get refilled? Ha! Kidding.

So I am getting off this computer now! Honest! I have all my cleaning to do. Laundry to do. Need to plan my menu and shopping list for Easter since we are hitting the store tomorrow. Need to finish my card challenge for Friday's bi-weekly challenge at The Scrapping Spot and if there could possibly be any time after that, I have my new April kit to work with and need to get at least a 1st LO done! Wait till you see these kits! They are awesome, awesome this month!

Palm Sunday

"Hosanna! Blessed is He who come in the name of the Lord!"

That was up on our Powerpoint for church this morning and its still in my mind. Palm Sunday is always so powerful to me. I get such a mental image of Jesus riding into the city on a donkey and the people waving their palm branches and putting their cloaks down..... only to shout at him with hatred and crucify him a few days later. He road into the city that day knowing what was coming, knowing what He was facing and he did it anyway, willingly, for me.... for you... for us. Wow. We had an awesome video clip this morning also that talked about Palm Sunday and our way vs. God's way. Our way we would have had Him riding into the city on a white stallion, and expected Him to live like royalty. His way, he rode in on a donkey and humbled himself and gave His life for me. For my sin. Knowing those things why do I ever question his ways and try to have the control for myself? His ways are always better. Always.

The palms above are from church this morning also. We traditionally start Palm Sunday service with a "children's palm parade." All the little ones come in carrying and waving their palms and place them at the front of the church. It is so cute to see them. I wanted to bring a few palms home this year to reflect on and remember this week. It always makes me think of my Grandpa. Often at spring break/Easter time when I was a kid in school, I would go to stay with Grandma and Grandpa for the week. Grandpa always went to church and I remember he would come home with a palm leaf every year. I can still see it so clear in my memory.

So yesterday and this past Thursday I dug into my scrap room and did some cleaning, organizing, and purging. I didn't purge all that much scrap stuff, but did get rid of a lot of other craft stuff I had hanging around for crafts I don't do too much these days. I needed the space! (I know of a few girls that are coming over for Easter that will probably have some fun digging thru my bags of giveway stuff too!) I thought maybe you would like to see a few pictures especially if you are like me. I love, love to see other people's scrap spaces and how they have things stored and organized. So, are you ready for a bunch of pics?!

This is the shelves that sit behind my work table. Do you get the idea that I like the color pink? These shelves hold the majority of my embellishments and stamping stuff.

I have aquired quite a button fixation. Until yesterday I still had all my Foof-a-la buttons still stored in the little bags they come in. That was getting way to messy so I transferred them all into vintage canning jars that belonged to my Mamaw. We've lived in her former home for over 6 years now and these have still been sitting in the basement that whole time. Darrel went down and brought some up to the house for me. He was showing me what there was and showing me the old lids and a couple had her handwriting on them and the next thing I know I'm crying. I miss her. I love though that her jars are still in her house, being used and enjoyed by her granddaughter. I did not sort by color. For now I am enjoying how the mix looks.

Bought this colander online somewheres. I am using it to hold my journaling notebooks and journaling cards.

The utility cart here was also Mamaws and used to be in her kitchen. Now I use it for a couple of project boxes, my cardstock and alpha stamps.

This is my work table. It is an antique drafting table that belongs to my husband. I love it!! Nice big area to work and I love the height.

A few things on the corner of my table. An easel where I put completed layouts to enjoy them for a bit. My big pink clothes pin with a recent card. A couple of vintage jars with buttons and some bling and my ATC holder for the scripture challenge.

I was thinking it would be nice to get my TV off the table so Darrel put toegether this little stand. Still need to paint it. What color do you think? Um pink! You can also see my small toteally tote which holds most used pens, scissors, pencils, etc.

Darrel added a shelf to the stand so I could slide in these 2 vintage utensil holders. I use them for most used stamps, inks, stickles, etc.

The top of my vintage credenza (that was a free gift) holds my sizzlits fonts, big kick, bind it all and a box that holds stickers.

The iris carts (this is 2 stacked together) were full of old craft stuff I didn't use any longer. Now they are full of craft stuff like ribbon! I think I ended up with four drawers?! The iris cart also holds punches, chipboard and flowers.

I like to use floss organizer boxes for small embellishments. I have the ends of some of these labled. I need to add labels to the newer ones. I like to label so if I am looking for a certain thing, I don't have to search thru each box.

These Ikea drawers also hold embellishments as well as ink pads and stamping supplies.

These bins from Hobby Lobby hold my rubons and 2 others hold more rubber stamps.

I use these wire baskets also from Ikea to hold my paints. I have 3 of them.

I love these little mimi cases for my small alpha stamps... However... could someone explain to me why they only hold 25 stamps? For the tiny stamps where you can fit more than 1 stamp per hole its no big deal. But um for the ones that fit one stamp per hole... did they forget the alphabet has 26 letters? Is it just me? Even with that, I love these little cases and use my alpha stamps more often since I organized them this way.

This tote sits next to my work table and holds my ATG, rulers, punches, pens, other adhesive, dymo, etc. See those tearing rulers hanging on the wall? LOVE those things. Seriously. Check them out at QVC.

So that was a tour of my scrap room. I do not like the paneling, or the old left over siding from when it was a front porch, but hey, I love my spot, and at some point when we finish other rooms in the house, we will be drywalling and painting so I can wait.

Weekend Happenings

This is my Mom & Dad's dog Sammi. They found Sammi in the road, in the forest area where they now live. They were on their way to their then new house and saw something in the road and weren't even sure what it was because she was so little. Someone had dumped out 2 puppies in the woods and one had already been killed. Daddy grabbed the other one and she has been with them since then. I recently found these pictures of her as a puppy and had also recently taken this picture of her now so I wanted to put them all together. She is a sweet dog and has always had a pretty calm disposition. She is about 7 I think now which isn't all that old I guess, but she has cataracts and is having trouble getting around. Even though she can't see very good, she still manages pretty well. We love her!

Had some fun making this layout. Used stuff from 2 different kits that I purchased recently and ended up using a pretty wide variety of papers and embellies. Love the mix! Papers are Creative Imaginations, Anna Griffin, Collage Press and October Afternoon. The rest was a mix of kit stuff and stash. Really happy with the result. I did this one for yet another round of spot tag. I was inspired by a layout made by Shawn Lahr. She is an awesome scrapper and had lots of cool stuff to choose from.

How is that for a before and after? Love, love, love how it came out!! We have 2 dressers that belonged to my Mamaw. They aren't really antique or anything, just good solid wood dressers. However I was so not loving the oak look or the colonial looking drawer pulls. The rest of our furniture is a cherry finish so I really was not liking the mix of the 2 wood tones. Since we are going with a kind of shabby chic look for our bedroom, we decided to try painting and distressing them. I figured I wouldn't mind the mix of the cherry wood with the painted as much. I am soooo happy with the result. My husband did the work on these. Didn't he do an amazing job? It was hard for him because its hard to know how much to sand and distress and when to stop. We like did one drawer together and then he went with it and wow I love it. He sanded them down, primed them, painted sage, painted off white, sanded to distress and then rubbed in a dark stain. We bought the new hardware at Lowe's last weekend. They are perfect for the look I wanted. It is amazing how expensive hardware can be.... Between the 2 dressers there are 16 pulls and that added up to like $100.... Since we've been working on the house we have this running "joke" that we can never get out of Home Depot or Lowe's without spending $100! Here are some more pictures to show detail.

Cannot wait to see them both done and in the room.

Card Challenge

Tomorrow (friday) officially starts the bi-weekly card challenge I will be hosting at The Scrapping Spot! For this first week, I decided to see what we could do with stickers. I mean ok, all us scrappers have these stickers we seem to accumulate right? Me? I'm not a big sticker person. Mostly I stick to the 7 gypsies 97% stickers and letter stickers. So when I ended up with a couple packages of K & CO. grand adhesions recently at first I thought well I probably won't use those. My next thought however was that it would probably make a cute and cheery card. I think it did too don't you? I had some fun with my sizzix texture plates which I hadn't tried out yet. Used that on the yellow edged cardstock. Other than that, all that you see is a couple of punched leaves, a premade K&CO Wild Saffron tag, and the lady bug sticker. Quick and easy! Love that. You should join us on the The Spot message board we've had lots of cool challenges posted this week!

My BFF Lisa

This is another LO I created for our online crop this weekend at The Scrapping Spot. I am hosting 3 challenges and this challenge will be to pick 3 scraps of patterned paper at random out of your scrap file and then use them together on your layout. This was so hard for me! I need things to go together so this was a challenge to make it work where I could be happy with it. Of course there is no stopping till I am happy with it because that would make me NUTS. The scraps I pulled were from SR Loveland, KI Pop Culture and some Love Elsie paper. I was glad they were all double sided because that gave me a few more options. I am pleased with the results. I decided to go with a black and white photo and then added the Bazzill edge and Kraft cardstock. Also had a chance to use a piece of Hambly I've had around for a bit. Turned out to be fun. I am so LOVING these little chipboard people and could NOT resist using the "idk my bff..." thing from those cell texting commecials. That always cracks me up! I made the little "sign" for that with rubons and plain index labels from the office supplies section.

So about the picture... this is my friend Lisa. Lisa and I met at church. Our Pastor got us together. It was back in 2004 and I needed to learn how to use FrontPage to handle our church's web site and Lisa came to the church to teach me. She had set up the web site for the church and is a great teacher so she helped me out a ton. We hadn't really met before that day. She walked into my office and right off the bat noticed a layout I had posted on the desktop of my office computer. She commented on it and I said I had heard she was a scrapbooker and from that moment we were off and running as major scrapbooking buddies and more importantly close friends. We both love the computer, E-mail and the Internet and all things having to do with scrapbooking. Rarely a day passes that we haven't shared a minimum of like 5 e-mails and for most days that is way on the low side. Recently Lisa got set up with AOL IM and now there are days we have the e-mails and the IM's going at the same time! Ha. Too funny. Our tastes in most things are so similar or maybe I should say identical that we are almost scary sometimes! Ha. Like I said on the layout it is just so cool to have someone who so gets you! We understand each other and I love that. She is as close as a sister and I just love her! All of that made it so fun to make this LO! (Oh! and speaking of Lisa, be sure to check out the awesome new LO she has posted on the Shabby Pink Designs blog here!)

I am up for scrap tag again so I need to get that LO finished up tomorrow. I also need to finish up a card for our first bi-weekly challenge on the board. Add to that regular housework, laundry, etc. and tomorrow will be a full day so I am headed to bed. Hope your week is going well! Blessings!

Psalm 4:8

OK I love the new MM line called Chelsea's place! I first saw it on Christine Middlecamp's blog and she mentioned finding it at Michael's. Loved the picture she shared of it... so next time I was in town, of course I had to check it out at our M's and score! They had it! I stood there and debated about did I need the specialty paper pack or the regular paper pack or both. Almost got just the regular, of course ended up getting both and so glad I did! The specialty paper pack is awesome! It has flocked paper, glittered, die cut, and I think some foiled. Love it! Made this layout yesterday and today using the Chelsea's place stuff and added in some K & Co. Wild Saffron that I got from QVC. Loving that line too.

We are having an online crop at The Scrapping Spot next weekend. I am hosting 3 challenges, and one of them is a scripture challenge. This is my example/sample for that. This verse is a favorite and very special to me. I think I have blogged before about how I sometimes have battled anxiety at night and this verse always calms and comforts me and reminds me that God has it all under control and I can rest in him. I have wanted to put that verse and this picture of Ethan together for awhile and have just not gotten it done so this was the perfect opportunity. For me little innocent Ethan's face here just shows that peace.

Is it warm where you are today? We hit 70 according to the bank temp in town! Wow! Love that first day near the end of winter when you get just that hint or taste of spring. It always feels to me like we've all been hiding out in our homes, and a day like this comes and everyone ventures out after the long cold winter. A Great Date Night

OK, how could it not have been a good date night ..... look at this picture! Have you ever heard of this place? It's called Insomnia Cookies. OH. MY. GOODNESS! So good. I seriously wish I could have taken a photo that would have captured the smell in this place when you walk in! Warm cookies baking. It was so awesome. We went to a college town about an hour -1/2 away from us for dinner tonight. We had to swing by my parents to pick up a ham my Dad got for us. Since we were going that way, we decided to hit a restaurant that my sister had told us about for dinner. It was great, I'll tell you about that in a sec.... back to the cookies! Ha. So after dinner we were driving around town checking things out and I spotted this place called Insomnia Cookies. We drove back around and Darrel let me out and he went and found a parking spot and met me there. This place is cool! They are a franchise and evidently they locate themselves close to colleges. What they do is they will deliver WARM cookies and/or brownies to your door between 8PM and 3AM!! They had all different kinds of cookies and brownies and a cool little spot to eat in if you wanted. They also had milk and pop and stuff. We had the plain brownies and the chocolate chunk cookies. We gotta go back and try some other stuff! Loved this place and the cookies and brownies were SO GOOD! Check out the little box they come in.... (I just e-mailed my sister about this and she has already decided "we have to move" you know, to be near the cookies..... bwa ha. ha. ha. ha. )

So before the cookies we of course had dinner. We went to Chipotle Grill. This was our first visit and trust me it will NOT be our last! This place was great! Aweseome, aweseome burritos and tacos....Really good food. I could go again tomorrow. Seriously. The sad thing though? Remember I said this was a college town? Well goodness, talk about feeling OLD! We were in a crowded loud room full of 20 somethings.... It sure doesn't seem like 20 years since I was one of them.... How did that happen? It like sneaks by when you aren't looking or something! Anyway....new favorite thing to do on date night. Go get tacos and cookies!

After dinner we headed towards Mom's to pick up our Ham. My Dad is working a job in another town right now and they have this place that makes/sells really good hams. He got me this one as "payment" for the Valentine's layout. Wasn't that sweet? So while we were there we had to hug a puppy of course! They are so cute!! Amazing how much they have grown in just 2 weeks.



















Look! Spring must finally be coming! It was a little warmer today and was that first day where you can just start to feel a hint of spring in the air. So after work I got curious if I had any bulbs peeking up yet and sure enough look whats coming up?! The Daffodils are starting to peek thru. Of course every year since I've lived here they come up in March and just get to the point of opening their blooms and suddenly it decides to snow and they freeze and die. Every stinkin year! I would just like to enjoy them just one year maybe?

On my way into the garage this morning to leave for work I look over in the yard and what do I see laying there? Shingles from the roof! I am thinking this is NOT a good thing. I guess in the last wind/ice storm, we lost some shingles from our garage/spare room roof. So, we made a call to the home insurance today and they are coming out to take a look on Tuesday. We are hoping it hasn't been leaking. Darrel is going up tomorrow to take a look. Amazing what you can find in the yard after the snow and ice melt!

Do you have a busy weekend planned? I hope ours will be fairly laid back. We have church and small groups on Sunday. Tomorrow I am home. Darrel has a meeting. I hope to get some scrapping done. Need to complete layouts for 2 challenges for The Spot's online crop next weekend, plus a weekly challenge that starts this week too! Why don't you come join us!
