1) OK seriously.....do not look at the old UGLY paneling and the 1980's lamp in the background. Cause you'll judge me as stuck in the 70's or 80's and no one wants that. Honest. We really are going to remodel this room sometime before I am a little old Deanna. Or.... never managing to have enough time to get it done will turn me into a little old Deanna. It's a toss up. Now... what were we talking about? 2) Oh yes. Sophie. Totally in love with my husband. I mean could it be more obvious? We have decided her name is Sophie fly paper because we can't seem to unstick her from my husband. I told her today though, I don't blame her. I'd sit by him 24/7 too if I could. Do you think they'd notice me at his office or miss me at mine? If Darrel is in his chair, Sophie wants to be with Darrel in his chair. If Darrel is standing in the middle of the room... Sophie wants to be with him. She is beginning to perfect the art of trying to leap up into his arms. I gotta learn how to do that one. Here he was working and she was hoping he wasn't going to make her get down which apparently didn' t happen if you take a look at picture #2.
Don't let him fool you... he loves it. He is 1/2 romantic awesome husband and 1/2 Dr Doolittle.
3) I realized today my new uniform of choice somewhere along the line has become yoga pants, Danskos, comfy t-shirt or old navy shirt and favorite sweater. I am thinking it is the universal uniform of choice for all Monogirls. Cause when you feel like taking a nap 2/3 of the time... well then one just wants to be comfy. And when you can't manage to drag yourself out of bed in the morning? Well once you finally convince yourself getting up really IS a good idea, then all you want is comfort. Am I right? Good thing I stocked up on a fresh inventory of yoga pants and Danksos recently. I should be good for a month or two at least.
4) Are you a Richard Paul Evans fan? I have been since the Christmas Box movie first aired back in 1995. Loved the movie and when I found it was a book? HAD to read it. Checked it out from the library... yes in my pre-kindle days.. .and fell totally in love with the book. I then of course set out to read every Richard Paul Evans book that I could get my hands on. So of course I am a happy girl when a new book released this week! A Winter's Dream magically appeared on my Kindle today! Love how the whole pre order thing works like that. Looks like this one is a modern day story of Joseph from the Bible. Very cool since I loved Lost December which was like The Prodigal Son story in the Bible. Also a very good thing I just finished War Brides (which was good!) so now I can dive right in!
5) Date Night took us to the Big City this week. Yes. Monogirl does get out on occasion. We had a lovely dinner at Longhorn. What's not to love about fillet Mignon and grilled shrimp? SO good. Having a waiter that pretty much ignored us after the food arrived could have been a downer, but we didn't let it spoil things. Afterwards we toured the mall in search of something we needed for our birthday gift for our niece. We had success there, hit a few other stores, Baskin Robbins and then headed home. Because? Monogirl was exhausted and was beginning to do things like walk crooked and lean on her husband. Well Monogirl ever get her stamina and energy back? Tune in next time to find out.
6) This past Sunday at church one of our youth sang a song called Restore for special music. It's by Chris August. Had not heard it before but totally love it and once I checked out Chris August a bit more via itunes I discovered I was already a Chris August fan and didn't know it. Have you heard Restore? LOVE!
7) Have you seen the new Vera Holiday styles coming out Nov 2nd? Saw them today on their Inside Stitch blog. How cute is the little black bag and the 2 sparkly ones? I need me some of those. Of course that frame bag is pretty awesome too. How is a girl supposed to choose?
8) While we were out for date night we decided Sophie needed a new cat toy. She seems to love things with feathers so when we found these little stuffed ball things with feather sticking out the top, we figured that was perfect. We apparently we did good because her new favorite pastime.... other than sitting by Darrel... is to pull the feathers out of the toy and um... eat them. Do they make bird flavored cat toys? Or will just any feather do?
9) My pink coach purse arrived. It is quite cute and yes.. I should be sharing a photo.. but its in the bedroom and I'm in my chair and I'd have to pull the memory card back out of the computer and put it back in the camera and you know what? That is just way too much effort for monogirl today yes.. even when pink coach purses are involved. We will just call this a little tease for next time. Works for me.
10) I think if you are monogirl there should be like a law or something that you are not allowed to have any other illnesses at the same time. Of course.. that wouldn't help me since I already have a cold. Monogirl... vitamin D issues... and a bad cold that is trying to wrestle me to the ground? I am thinking I should get brownie points today just for being vertical.
And.. since I am tired monogirl with a cold.. I am happy to announce it is time for bed. I plan to hit the Nyquil bottle and then the bed.. in that order. Blessings!
