I love Valentine's Month. Have I mentioned that? Look what he handed me today. OK.....Dove chocolate. YUM. Then he also gives me little shiny scrapbooking heart stickers. I just love that I have a guy who will go shop in the scrapbook section for me and that he is able to actually pick out stuff I like. He is good.

Got out this bin of yarn last night so I could figure out if I had enough yarn on hand for a project. It's been quite some time since I've been in this bin so I was surprised to find no less than three projects that had been started but not finished. The funny thing? See the grey and black piece and then the brown and black piece? I think they are exactly the same thing. I have NO idea why I would have started making the same scarf twice and.... why would I have gotten like exactly the same amount done and then stopped? Even funnier... see the green and tan piece? Um I have no clue what that even is supposed to be..... HA! Possibly it started life intending to be a baby or toddler sweater. I have a very vague memory that it might have been intended for a nephew. OK... talking about that just now made me remember a dinosaur blanket I started for a nephew. It was all in afghan stitch with cross stitched dinosaurs. I never even got the afghan stitch squares done. Of course now this is sounding like a fun project to complete even though I have no clue who the blanket would be for.
Watching the show Hoarders. Have you seen this? It's like frightening and fascinating to me all at the same time. I could NOT live in the mess. It amazes me to look at the piles or the floors covered with stuff and try to figure out how on earth did it get that way and how did it start? I mean how do you end up with this mound of garbage and stuff in your living room?
Did I mention the washing machine broke? It of course broke on Thursday which is my laundry day. Yes... I have a day. There is just the two of us, so we tend to do fine if I do anywhere from 2-4 loads on Thursdays. It started making a very loud noise when it was supposed to be spinning... the noise of course was instead of the spinning. Darrel with the help of the internet was able to figure out the problem... after he figured out how the heck to get into the washing machine. Would you believe the whole outside shell lifts off rather than having a top that opens. He said he wanted to talk to the guy that designed that.... ha! The problem apparently is this small plastic piece called a direct drive gear. Gee... they have determined that because this piece is plastic it tends to break... Now they make it with a metal sleeve in the center. What a concept that the piece that causes the washing machine to spin should perhaps be metal.... We were able to order the new part via the Internet as well but of course it is like on a mountain top in Switzerland somewhere...ha ha ha... which means it takes several days to get to us. As the laundry piles up.... we wait. Hoping the part will make an appearance tomorrow. Very thankful for a husband that can fix these things. He has already saved us the cost of a service call and a couple hours of labor.
OK.. browsing the Internet last night. LOOK at these cupcakes. I mean chocolate cupcakes with ganache... what is not good about that? Plus they have a Hershey kiss in them. Must try those. I am also thinking I have to try this pound cake. I am not a fan of lemon though. Wondering if you could substitute vanilla? I'd also like to try her Italian Meatball Soup and this recipe for salsa. Just love her recipes, her photos and her humorous style of writing. Quite entertaining. :)
Have you seen this new site? I think this coffee cup mini album is very cute. This VIP album is also cool. They also have a journaling class that might be fun.
Terre Haute Crop for the Cure is scheduled for April 3rd. I would love to go... but not sure about the date. April 3rd is the day between Good Friday and Easter Sunday. On Good Friday we have our Carry the Cross which is a 12 mile walk I wanted to participate in again this year. Then there may be a Good Friday evening service as well. Then I'd have to be up early and off to the crop on Sat. Back home probably by 9 pm and then needing to get in bed to be up for sunrise service the next day... that may be too many long days with a lot of stuff too many days in a row. Trying to decide. Glad we are at least signed up for the Evansville Crop for the Cure for Feb 27th. My friend Lori and her niece (I think) are going and my friend Julia is going. Hoping some other friends will be going to. It is just too fun to go crop for the day with good friends! :) If you are attending that day please leave me a comment. Would love to see you there.
We are due for new cell phones within the next few months. YAY. Not loving my LG Dare. Not sure what we want to get though either. I have heard rumors that the iphone is going to no longer be exclusive to AT&T. If that is true and Verizon started offering it, I'd probably get that. However.. not loving needing the $30 data package on most of the nicer phones. Not sure we can or want to swing the additional $60 a month if that is needed for both our phones. Anyone have a phone they just love? I like the Blackberrys too and think I'd like something with an actual keyboard, not just the touchscreen. And yes... I am aware the iphone is touchscreen. From what I've seen its way better than my Dare touchscreen which drives me INSANE sometimes.
Wore this new shirt to church today. And I just have to say Stacy and Clinton are right about wearing things that are tailored and accenting the smallest part of you, etc. Do you watch them? I am realizing I learn so much from them. There was a time not all that long ago when there was NO WAY you would have caught me wearing something fitted. I wanted to hide in a tent and thought that was better. Yes I have lost weight, but I still have a lot to lose and yet, I am finding I can actually feel *gasp* attractive in something that fits well. So today I had on black jeans, my black heeled boots, black cami and then the purple shirt. I loved the look on my husband's face when he saw me this morning. I could live on that look for at least like 3 days... ha ha And then.... someone at church said I was looking "skinny" in that shirt. I could not keep the smile off my face and said to the room full of people (in my office) that um I never thought I'd hear my name and the word skinny all in the same sentence... I could definitely get used to that. :)
Almost time to head back to church for our annual business meeting. I am thinking I'd like it better if we could just all stay home and like have a video conference call.... sounds good to me. Blessings!
