To bring you this special report on date night.. and the weekend.. .and today.. and whatever else I can think of since I am behind on Project Life *gasp* and have nothing to post today! Who wants to cry with me? I was doing so good. And then... then the mono fatigue tackled me and wrestled me to the ground... and no more staying with the program this week! So lets recap... shall we?
Friday was date night! But.. this girl.. she was tired. Wednesday was a work day and an evening praise team rehearsal and I know to normal people this does not sound like much at all.... But to mono girl? That was way too much. Soooo tired for several days after that. So for date night, we decided the best plan was staying home. We decided on La Carreta carry out for dinner which was quite yummy and just let me tell you its very fun cuddling up on the couch in your jammies and sharing chips and salsa.
Instead of movies for date night, Darrel had the idea that we could catch up on all our DVR'd shows. Isn't it funny the words that we now consider verbs? DVR'd.... text... email... We like need a whole new tech section to the dictionary. We had like 8 hours plus saved. It was actually more fun than a movie because it makes conversation a little easier when you aren't having to pay such close attention to know what's happening.
We had ordered popcorn from a friend at church for a band fundraiser so we had special treats for TV watching. Cheese and Caramel popcorn. 2 separate containers... but am I the only weird one who likes to eat them together? It's like the cheese cuts the sweet of the caramel... honest.. I'm not imagining things.
We played with our new phones a bit and Darrel made us his famous date night milkshakes... Yummy!

It tastes even better when you have it in a pretty
fiesta tervis tumbler don't you think?
As you may have noticed.. part of the playing with the phone included playing with the camera. Our new phones have a front camera (or regular) so when you want to hold it out and take a picture of yourself, you can see what it will look like. We were playing with the
Pocketbooth App and we got soooo cracked up trying to get our faces in the frame and figuring out where to look.... the result was the above photo strip (I like the bottom 2 the best) and a few other keepers such as this one...

Now isn't that attractive? Perhaps good for use on next year's Christmas card? No? I was laughing.. .and saying how in all the photos my eyes looked squinty and was pulling on them like that saying to myself.. stop squinting. Of course my kind husband figures this is the perfect time to snap the photo... Isn't that special? All in all a perfect way to capture the memory of date night...
When our niece Lauryn was little she used to pull down her eyes like that and would ask if we want to "see her blood." I have no idea why... I am sure my brother had something to do with that. So I of course had to text her this photo and remind her of that. It's an Aunt's job...

This... this would be proof that we are capable of eating somewhere other than LaCarreta on a Sunday afternoon. Shocking I know. Since we had LaCarreta for date night, we decided we felt like Braytens for Sunday lunch. A lunch that we arrived at earlier than normal. You are just on the edge of your seat waiting to find out why aren't you? I knew it. Sunday lunch is riveting stuff for the Koontz's...
I was still feeling tired... but a little better by the weekend. Well Sunday took care of that right quick! I was worship leader which means being at church at 8 AM for a rehearsal and then leading during the service. For some reason... this can be quite an exhausting job on a good day. At minimum its usually 4 hours of activity. It wore me out! Enough so that Darrel took one look at me by the time church was over and said... "just so you know... we are leaving." Meaning no Sunday School. I was tired enough so that I get a little staggery... is that a word? Staggery: When one don't walk so good.... There ya go, the official definition just for your reading pleasure. So we had a quiet lunch at Braytens and headed home. I slept for several hours... and could not seem to manage to get past the groggy stage for the rest of the day.

Darrel on the other hand was not suffering from an energy deficiency and he used his time to install new porch lights. I think I mentioned the 30 year old fan light that was there died... good... and we needed a new one. See we live in the "country" people and without a porch light... its like a cave out there! I am all about having things lit up! Very happy with our new lighting choice! We got 2 of
these (one on each side of the door) for I think like $35? Made us both wonder um why did we wait so long? I should also add... while he was installing the lights this involved clunking around in the attic for the whole time I was napping... Right over my head. Even that did not keep me awake.

This would be one of today's Project Life photos. See... the Sunday fatigue? Still not gone. Last night? Not a restful night. Work today? Um nope... Not up to that at all. However I needed to work. Got myself a shower... got on my PJ leggings and top, my cozy slippers... my coat... and headed to the office. Yep. Went to work in my PJ's. I drove there, I went in my office and got the paperwork I needed. I headed home. I was not up to getting fancy for 5 minutes in the office. PJ's at the office... I'm such a rebel.. ha! Right. I did manage to still do 5 hours of work on our newsletter... all from my recliner. Not to shabby for tired mono girl.
I did manage to make myself a breakfast burrito for breakfast. First time too! I was making a normal turkey sausage and egg bagel sandwich. Happened to see left over jalapenos and salsa from LaCarreta in the fridge... and next thing I know... I am making myself a burrito. Yummy and really not to shabby on calories either.
Isn't it funny the things we decide we must memorialize for Project Life? Well OK.. I admit it. I already did that before just for scrapbooking purposes! ha!
And now I must say goodnight if I have any hope of making it to work tomorrow. Hoping the rest of the week will hold feeling better, having some energy, completing week 6 & 7 Project Life, and doing a layout for Layout Tag on a message board I am part of. It could happen. Tune in next time to find out! You know you want to. ;) Blessings!
